Cala Blanca is a modern (1990) purpose-built estate, extending N from its beach by an oval one-way system of roads. Private villas and apartments line the bleak esplanade, with coastal views towards Ciudadela. It is joined to the older and marginally more interesting holiday village of Santandria.
It is set on a W-facing coast, on mainly level ground with a pine-fringed cove engulfed by a well-developed village.
The area is fairly bland and most suited to the undemanding quiet-seekers.
Accommodation is mainly in the middle and lower middle categories with predominance of self-catering options. Lovely, small coastal inlets of Cala Blanca and Santandria have fine, gently shelving sandy beaches protected by rocky sides.
Daytime attractions include minigolf, small water slides and the beach.
